Brief: build an online community for readers who revel in what the Los Angeles Times calls "near perfect historical fiction." Then keep them happy with masses of resources and background information.

Solution: in the 1990s we launched over a dozen teaser sites for Beverly, each one aimed at readers who were interested in specific aspects of her themes. When the first book hit, the ready-made market propelled it to best-seller status. Now and everything has come together in a single supersite featuring our Juke Box for book trailers. We've launched book 4 of the series and are already planning the campaign for book 5.

Result: We only got her last title to #3 on Google. Mind you, that was out of 42,500,000 rival pages.
